1. Hot Tiara
This princess game is exactly like hot potato, but with a lovely tiara. All you need to get started is a play tiara and a music player of some kind that can be paused easily.
How to Play Hot Tiara!
It really is almost exactly like hot potato.- Sit the girls down in a circle.
- Put the tiara on the birthday girl's head.
- Start playing the music and have the birthday girl take the tiara off her head and put it on the head of the next girl to the left. In this version of the game the girl's don't just hand the tiara along, it goes from head to head.
- Let it go around for a little while and then pause the music.
- Whoever was touching the tiara is out. So if it's on a head, that girl is out. If a girl is about to crown another princess then the one holding the tiara is out.
- Have the girl restart crowning girls with the tiara, to the left, and then pause the music again after awhile.
- Continue until there is a final winner, the crowned princess
If you don't have a tiara, you can play this game with a necklace, or other princess inspired item. Whatever you use to pass around may also be used as a prize for the winner of the game.
2. Princess Madlib Game
This is an incredibly funny princess game in which the party girls fill in a sheet of words which get tranferred into a princess story with hysterical results. All the girls will be laughing so hard it will be difficult to keep reading the story.
There are two printouts need for this game:
You can play the madlib game any way you like, but here are instructions for the madlib game. There are 2 versions you can try.
3. Guess The Princess Picture
This princess picture game is a great game for the beginning of the party which can be started as soon as the girls start arriving. It could also be an ideal filler game between other princess games or activities at the princess party, since it's a very short game (maybe 10 minutes).
To play the game:
- Tape a princess themed picture to the back of each girl. Ideas for these pictures include, various disney princesses, a tiara, castle, necklace, king, queen, prince, carriage, etc. We have some princess related pictures here for your convenience:
- Each party girl must try to guess the picture on their back by asking other girls questions. But the answers to the questions can only be yes or no.
- As the children guess their picture they then tell you and you can write down the order of the kids. This is really only necessary if you have prizes for the winners.
4. Princess Bling Search
This princess party game has the girls searching for hidden jewels in and/or around the house. To play this game you will need:
- Candy necklaces
- Ring Pops
- Cheap costume jewelry
- Jewelry box
- Several small boxes (one for each) decorated with glitter and/or stick on jewels
- Clues
- Think of several hiding places inside and/or outside the house where you can hide the princess jewels. Try to come up with enough hiding places so that there is one more hiding place than the number of kids at the party.
- Make cryptic clues to the each of the hiding places. The kids will need to figure out each clue to find their way to the next stash of treasure.
- Roll up the clues and tie them with string to they look like little scrolls. You may want to number them on the outside of the scroll so that you know where to hide the scrolls and jewels and the kids will know if they're getting the treasure in the right order.
- Put some bling into each of the small boxes, and the clue to the next bling box. Each child will end up with one of these boxes in the end, so you may want to put names on the boxes frmo the start.
- Put a larger stash of jewels into the jewelry box, or whatever small box or container you plan to use.
- Keep the clue to the first princess bling box separate. Hide the small bling boxes around the house and include the clue to the next treasure location in the each box. The last princess bling box will have the clue to the final jewelry box.
- Divide up the jewelry from the final jewelry box evenly amongst the coin sacks and each child will keep their own princess bling small.
